My Friends Fredrik Backman
Reviewer: Anonymous
It's a story looking back at four teenage friends -- characters who only really fit with each other and the different paths their lives took. It's also about the transformative power of art. The audio version is great -- very well read!

The Framed Woman of Ardemore House Brandy Schillace
Ardmore House Mysteries Book #1

This little mystery wasn't bad, it just wasn't great.
Maybe because the only thing that was really unique about this book is that the main character has autism (which, yay, representation!) but despite being the main character of the book she was very rarely actually the main character.
Likes: the main character, Jo Jones, was great. Loved her. Wish there was more from her POV.
Dislikes: Most of the story was told from the police detective's POV and it felt very much so like your run of the mill police detective story from that part.

Caraval Book #1

Okay listen, Stephanie Garber can write on a napkin and I would read it. I read this book twice. Once for myself and once out loud to my spouse while they were driving into work. It has a bit of mystery, a bit of intrigue, a bit of family drama.
It's fun, it's clean, and it's an easy read. What more could you ask for?
Likes: the characters, the setting, the mystery.
Dislikes: I read the sequel series first by accident so I knew how the series ended, whoops, my bad. Otherwise, it was great. No notes.
Spice level: 1/5
Rating: 4.5/5 (only because I like the sequel series even better!)

Okay, this book was recommended to me by a patron and 10/10 stars would read this again (actually, I am reading it a second time).
This book was intense. It had great tension between the main characters, fantastic banter, interesting action and premise. Seriously it was so good (we will be getting a copy soon!).
Likes: Everything. It's so good.
Dislikes: how I felt at the end of the book, because I never want it to end. But thankfully there are two more books.

Heartless Hunter Kristen Ciccarelli
The Crimson Moth Book #1

Another book recommended to me by a patron and they were so right! This book gave me scarlet pimpernel vibes (if you're more into the classics, the author also says that was part of her inspiration).
This book is part of a duology, so if you want a good short series and you like a fast paced series this might be a good option for you.
Likes: characters, banter, the plotting and classic adventure vibes.
Dislikes: parts of the book were a bit predictable, but still fun and enjoyable.
Spice: 2/5 there's definitely some explicit scenes here.
Content warning: Blood is mentioned, a lot.
Rating: 4.75/5

Fans of Pride & Prejudice and Regency-era love stories will flip over Madeline Bell's swoon-worthy debut, The Austen Affair. Tess Bright is ecstatic. She just landed a starring role in an adaptation of Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey. There's only one hitch: The arrogant Hugh Balfour is her costar. But when a whimsical electrical accident sends them back 200 years in the past, Tess and Hugh have to fake their way through the Regency period together in order to make it back home.

Readers who enjoy slow-burn crime fiction and cracking the case as they turn pages will love Don't Say a Word by Allison Brennan. This tale, the second installment in her new series, revisits the Angelhart family. The police ruled Elija Martinez's death an accidental overdose, but the teen's mother is not convinced. When the case is brought to Angelhart Investigations, Margo enlists the help of her family - including her former-cop brother Jack - to find out what really happened to Elijah before anyone else is hurt.
